Analyzing Stakeholders and Handouts

After spending some time focusing on collateral material, I am now shifting my focus to analyzing stakeholders. Something that helps give a clearer understanding of stakeholders are handouts. In this blog, I'll be providing looking into my first stakeholder while also providing an overview of handouts.

Defining my Stakeholder

Stakeholders are groups or individuals that have interests in any activity or decision of an organization. It's important to figure out who the primary stakeholders are in an organization to ensure the better overall success of the said organization.

The best means of targeting messages toward stakeholders is to first make sure the stakeholders are understood. One can't properly target messages to stakeholders that they don't understand first. In addition, it's important to understand these stakeholders because they can directly impact a business for better or for worse. After this, one can then actively engage with their stakeholder.

In the future, I'll be designing material for two different stakeholders for my new client OU Recruitment Services. My first stakeholder is students that are aged 17-19, have accepted SAT/ACT scores and attend events.

The messages that may be targeted to this stakeholder are how to make educated decisions in the college decision process, displaying what OU has to offer, big events on campus, etc. To best provide information and these messages regarding these stakeholders, I'll be designing handouts.

What are Handouts?

Handouts are documents that are used to provide an audience with a clear overview of information. Handouts are used all over academia to provide easily communicable information on a variety of subjects.

As I said before, I want to use these handouts as informational resources for students to better understand what the OU has to offer and making educated decisions. With that being said, I also want the handouts to be something people can keep with them and that they can always look back on.
